Improve My Game Jam 25 — Planned Upgrades
I participated in Code Coven's Introduction to Game Making in Unity course during which I made Nocturnus, an owl-spotting game. This was one of my first game development projects and, well, it shows. The goal for this assignment was to implement at least one feature new to us. I implemented "press key to interact" and a counter. Let's see how far I came in my game development in the past few months.
For Improve My Game Jam 25, I'm scrapping this game and starting over. Here are the changes I'll make:
- Use polygon graphics instead of realistic graphics
- Improve level design by, well, designing the level
- Change from nighttime to dusk (playtesters said nighttime was scary)
I'm most interested in level design, so that is what I'm focusing on. But if I have the time, I'd like to implement the following:
- In game camera to capture owls
- Boat that can take player to small island
- Adding other creatures to increase interest and reward exploration
If I get the camera mechanic in there, I might make the game third person...I just like the feel of that.

How many owls can you spot?
